New Peter Gabriel!

I was raised on this guy, love him to death, and he doesn't put out records very often, so when he does, it's kind of a big deal...

(From PeterGabriel.com)
In this first instalment of a mini podcast series introducing 'Scratch My Back', Peter talks about the first four tracks from the album, and we hear excerpts from the final studio masters.

Peter Gabriel will release his 'Scratch My Back' album project on February 15th 2010 on Virgin Records. The album is the first part of a series of song exchanges in which Peter and other leading artists reinterpret each others songs. In this first installment we hear excerpts from, and the stories behind Peter's recordings of Heroes, The Boy In The Bubble, Mirrorball and Flume.

With only 1 month and 28 days to go until the release of 'Scratch My Back' on February 15th 2010, details are gradually escaping the studio. We thought we'd open the door a little wider here. You may have seen the now finalised track-listing and running-order we published in the 'news' section - if so, it will be no surprise to read that the album will feature Peter's recordings of Heroes (David Bowie), The Boy in the Bubble (Paul Simon), Mirrorball (Elbow), Flume (Bon Iver), Listening Wind (Talking Heads), The Power of the Heart (Lou Reed), My Body is a Cage (Arcade Fire), The Book of Love (The Magnetic Fields), I Think it's Going to Rain Today (Randy Newman), Après Moi (Regina Spektor), Philadelphia (Neil Young) and Street Spirit (Fade Out) (Radiohead).
