You know, lately i've been feeling more disconnected than ever. Seems like all my supposed "real friends" are too busy with their own lives, I guess this happens when you get older. It's too bad really, because I like my friends. I also find it more and more challenging to break through to the masses with my creativity. There is so much competition out there, a hand-full of it I acknowledge to be legitimate, but there's also so much crap that gets a lot of undeserved notoriety, in my opinion. People's attention span has been shortened considerably with the advancement in technology. Everything is instant and instantly forgotten. On to the next thing! I've always felt like an outsider, ever since i can remember. The only thing i've ever truly connected with is music. If I could have a connection like that with another human being, well, that would be something... I know i'm a complicated person, i'm not everyone's cup of tea. I care too much, i'm too passionate, or i'm not passionate enough. I can't fake it, and i wouldn't want to, ever. What am I trying to say here? Nothing in particular I suppose, just pouring my thoughts out after 3 glasses of wine. Late nigh, as per usual. I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining, I realize I probably do. Let me say that I consider myself to be one lucky and fortunate bastard, but you know, everything is relative... Maybe i'll pour myself another drink and put on some Mad Men. Always seems to make everything better. I don't expect you to understand, just to listen.

What I look for in a Woman.

I know no one is perfect, and no one could possibly possess all of these qualities, but these are simply the things I definitely appreciate in a woman.

• ATTRACTION. Yes, without the attraction I'm afraid we could only be friends. I want to crave you, and when I finally get near you, I want to eat you up, and tear you apart. And then caress you lovingly :)

• SILLYNESS. I love a girl that a) gets my sense of humor and b) is not afraid to let her hair down and be goofy and silly with me. Yes, I have a very silly side that comes out when I get close and comfortable with another individual(s).

• APPRECIATION/INTEREST OF/IN THE ARTS. I'm a creative human being first and foremost. I don't know what I would do without music. I love creativity and expression. I am a film buff. I love photography, fashion, design. I want a woman that shares the same sentiments.

• KINDNESS. Someone that will caress my face and kiss my forehead when I need it. The calmer. The assurer. Someone with a loving heart. Someone that feels way beyond the surface level. Someone that cares about other people besides themselves, deeply.

• CLASS. No drama. No drunken embarrassment. I don't want a girl in a mini skirt that's flashing everyone their underwear at a night club. Been there, done that. No thank you. Empress me with your intellect instead.

• AMBITION/DRIVE. I want you to have a dream, to have goals, and to actually work towards them. I certainly try to do that in my life. I want to grow as a person every single day, I don't want to waste a moment, and I want to grow and appreciate life with you, my equal.

• EASYGOING NATURE. I don't want someone who's going to be a pain in the ass about every decision. Forget it. Let's agree to try most everything at least once. Let's be open to new experiences. Trust me not to put you in an uncomfortable situation that you will hate, I won't.

• THE BIG PICTURE. Life is short. Let's not spend it arguing over the small things that truly don't matter. Let's have discussions, not arguments. Let's live each day to its full potential. Let's enjoy each other's company when we are together and appreciate our time apart.

• TRUST. Yes, the big one. Without trust what is there? Let's trust each other until that trust is broken. Let's hope it won't be, with the right one.

Hey, my name is Dylan – I’m a friend of Skaught’s and he showed me your new EP today here at work and I was absolutely FLOORED! This stuff is f-ing incredible. I knew of your photo work from the last Ayin CD, but I had no idea you did music as well. I’m a huge Reznor fan and Skaught thought I’d like this and told me to give it a listen and it just kicked my ass! Hahaha. I was swept away with track 3, but as soon as the beat and riff from track 4 kicked it, I could help but grin.

I’d love to get a copy if I could, and I’m really interested to hear what else you got coming next. Skaught said you have an earlier CD that would be worth checking out, do you have any place I can check that stuff out?

It’s just really refreshing to not only hear music as fresh as this, but to know it’s someone local is just really exciting. This is some amazing stuff you got going and I can’t believe I haven’t heard of it sooner. You definitely got a new fan today!

...is Freja Beha Erichsen. She is just about in every major fashion campaign and magazine. She's the Derek Zoolander of the female model industry these days. I haven't seen a girl be this prominent since Kate Moss. In my opinion she resembles a girl I dated recently, another outstanding beauty. Next time you flip through a VOGUE or a W look for this faces, because I guarantee you'll see it.

Real Friends...

..are rare. Are a precious commodity. So very important. Priceless. They truly matter. Those connections are what we live for. Understanding and supportive. Encouraging. Loving. We listen to each other even when we're not completely interested, because if it matters to them, it matters to you.
"What do you wanna do?" Well, it doesn't really matter. The real friends don't care what the plan is because the plan is secondary, a backdrop to simply spending time together. The real friends don't say, they do. The important people may disappear from the radar for months, maybe even years, but they always find their way back, and it's almost like they've never left, you just pick right up where you left off.
The real friends will let certain things slide, because they know you've got flaws, and they accept them. The true ones seem to have a sixth sense about your state of being. They can tell when things are off and they help you get through whatever it is you're going through. I feel so fortunate to have such an amazing group of friends in my life. I love them truly. Amazing people. This blog entry is dedicated to you. Thank you.

No, this entry will not be about eating steak and watching football. This is about taking responsibility for you actions and just being a decent human being. There's a lot to be said about the older generations of men, the no-nonsense, hard working, honest, and intelligent type. We've always had our flaws, but I believe those flaws are on display now more than ever.
I'm in my 30s now and I have been trying to be more aware of my behavioral patterns. I have a lot of flaws, I will be the first one to admit it. I'm a very complicated individual, time has been a guide, a chaperone of self-discovery, and self-evaluation. Certain personality traits are especially difficult to bend, to mold because they have been instilled at such an early age. They've been with us all along and they've been growing. I do believe that overall people don't change dramatically. There are cases of extreme transformation under extreme circumstances, but those cases are few and far between.
I've handled some things the wrong way, we all have, but those instances seem to carry a lot more weight now that i'm older. It's quite embarrassing when it happens. We can't erase and rewind, I wish we could, so all we can do it acknowledge it, take responsibility, learn from it, and try to make sure we don't make the same mistake twice. I've been humbled a lot lately as well, I think that's all part of maturing into an adult. If I had any advice I would probably tell you to never be afraid to admit when you're wrong and apologize. Don't be a jerk and don't expect anything from anyone. The only person you can hold accountable is yourself. If you feel like you've done your best then you can sleep well at night. Be honest with yourself and roll with the consequences, but face them head on, don't try to weasel your way out of things. This is just my opinion, I could be wrong. Good chance.

Second shoot with the new camera. The first field we went to was filled with mice. Mice everywhere. Thousands of mice. Crawling all over. And bugs. Bugs that seemed to gravitate towards my hair product. Well, at least they have good taste. Mice and bugs aside we had a great time, got our shoes dirty (Holly's are ruined, i wore Converse, just built more character), and came out with some pretty cool shots, at least in my opinion.

Let me preface this by saying that my dad loves to stage photos. He thinks he's funny, most of the time it's just cheesy, but he means well, bless his heart. Let me also tell you that my dad has been friends with Sergey, the star of this feature, for the majority of his life. Sergey is genius, hilarious, life of every party, a womanizer, drinker, smoker, in other words, Russian. Sergey has been able to come visit a couple of times now and what you're about to witness is part one of many parts of this new photo feature. These are hilarious, in my opinion. The man certainly knows how to pull a face (the very Russian-looking woman in some of the photos is his loyal and very patient wife, Irina). I hope you enjoy, I sure as hell did.
